What We Look For

At Delve Bright Corporation, you will do more than just analysis. And we require more than just good grades. Our aspiration is to change clients, industries, business, even society. Your success in this depends more on your talents than on the focus of your degree. People with a background in many subjects—business, natural sciences, philosophy, finance, engineering, history—thrive here. We hire exceptional people with outstanding capabilities and great potential in five areas. Each area is critical to success in our day-to-day work.

Path Finding

In our client work, there are many unknowns. We look for people who can see a path through the unknown. Can you draw insight from ambiguity? Can you convert the energy of disagreement into a productive solution? As we get to know you, we will look for the observation, judgment, and decisiveness that characterize pathfinders

Problem Solving

We help leaders solve their complex, toughest and most urgent problems. We look for superior intellectual capabilities and a practical sense of what works in complex organizational settings.

Curiosity

Curiosity is the starting point of change. We seek people who care enough about a client’s problem to understand it. Who care enough about performance to improve it. Do you see patterns in the challenges faced by businesses that you have observed, worked in, or launched? Do you wonder why one competitor in a “mature” industry thrives while others fail? Curiosity is the common spark igniting our client impact, our business thought leadership, and your contributions.

Impact

At Delve Bright Corporation, you will do more than just analysis. AnThe end of curiosity, path finding, and leadership is impact. Can you demonstrate the results of a direction or a cause that you have championed? Do you have huge ambitions about what you and a team of committed people can do to positively change an organization? We seek these opportunities in our work with the world’s important companies and nonprofits. And we seek these qualities in our people.

Leadership

A path is useless unless you can lead others to it. Can you persuade with facts and with empathy? Can you bring traffic to the road less traveled? We see teams as a means not only to solve problems but to lead. We enjoy intense interaction among junior staffers, senior partners, and clients. At Delve Bright Corp., leadership is not tied to hierarchy or experience. Your voice and ideas are valued regardless of your tenure. And your reward for arguing and implementing your ideas? The leader you become in the process.

We are accomplished and well rounded, with diverse backgrounds and experiences. We’re also fun to work with. Our clients and colleagues value our unique mix of talent, skill, and character.

Application Process & Preparation

Prepare

Use available resources to assess your readiness to apply, gather all the information you’ll need to complete your application, and confirm that this is the career path that makes the most of your strengths and interests.

Potential checklist:

  • Do you know which role best suits you?

  • Do you know if you want to join a practice?

  • Do you know what we look for?

  • Do you know how we work with clients?

  • Have you prepared a detailed resume/CV?

Apply

There are two different types of applicants: current students and experienced professionals. Current students are those pursuing a bachelor’s, MBA, master’s, doctorate, medical, law, or other advanced degree. Experienced professionals already have their degree and at least some work experience.

Interview

Candidates who are invited to interview participate in experience interviews and case interviews. Many candidates also complete the Problem Solving Test. We encourage you to familiarize yourself with our interview techniques.

Case Interview Hints:

  1. Most questions in a case study do not have a single right answer.
  2. In a live case interview, we are more interested in your explanation of how you arrived at your answer, not just the answer itself.
  3. An interviewer can always assess different but equally valid ways of approaching an issue, and then bring you back to the particular line of inquiry that he or she wants to pursue.
  4. In a live case interview, there will be far more interaction with the interviewer than this exercise allows; for example, in a live interview you will have the opportunity to ask clarifying questions.
  5. Although there is no time limit in this practice exercise, a live case interview would typically be completed in 25-30 minutes, depending on how the case evolves.
